Remodeling & Demolition of an existing Blockbuster Video Building into a Meatheads Restaurant.
MEATHEADS RESTAURANT
Scott General Contracting completed the demolition and remodel of a new Meatheads restaurant, a popular Illinois chain. The existing 6,800 square foot structure in Champaign, IL – formerly a Blockbuster Video store – was demolished and SGC reduced the size to a 3,500 square foot structure, poured new foundations and footings and erected a new exterior masonry block wall onto the portion of the intact building.
The demolished area was reconfigured and required the installation of new sidewalks and curbs to create a drive-thru lane. SGC performed a complete site-work package including proper grading and drainage for storm, water and sewer management. All necessary drive-thru equipment and site lighting were installed.
SGC rebuilt the gutted interior of the now smaller building and installed new roofing, framing, mechanical system, electrical, plumbing and flooring. Custom items such as millwork, light fixtures and painting were featured in the new construction.
SGC created a new enclosed exterior patio system the customized exterior package featured metal framing and cedar trimming. This restaurant remodel as shown below was completed in just four months.
